MEASURING THROUGH A TRANSPARENT SCHREEN ThermoCAM E300 1/4/2011
We want to do measurement on electrical components such as relays which are behind a transparent synthetic screen. Can we do reliable measurement through that screen

You can treat this like an infrared window once the transmissivity is determined. Many factors to consider but it is doable. Review the material on transmissivity determination and ASTM E1897.4369-1.

By "transparent synthetic screen", do you mean a visually transparent material like perspex, lexan or polycarbonate?

The screen is lexan or polycarbonate.

This will have to be removed for the inspection, it is transparent in the visual spectrum, but not in the infrared.
