Data Acquistion IR Camera Syed.Umair.Uddin 9/12/2011
Recently I worked on acquired data which is from MCT based IR camera . In the data header I can see

samples = 320
lines = 109
bands = 238

As far as I understood bands refers to wavelength no idea about other quantities . Can anyone explain me please what these quantities mean ?

It would help if you could tell us the manufacturer and model number of the camera.

Then click on Spectral camera SWIR 970 – 2500nm

In the above file you can see Electrical Characteristics where it is mentioned
Pixels in image frame = 320 (spatial) x 256 (spectral)

Now my question is What are these Spatial and Spectral in this case additionally when I am reading this data it has dimensions of
109 x 320 x 238 . Please explain or mention any link where I can read about this format of images . Thanks in advance . Regards

I would like to help you, but consider my words not really informations but only consideration about the numbers that you get.
I believe that you are using an image comung from an SPECTRAL IMAGER based on a MCT (Mercury Cadmium Telluride) sensor; the system possibly produces a matrix of information which are really a double-matrix: one for spatial distribuction and another one for spectral spectral. The data reported 109x320x238 could be indicate the energy ghatered at line #109 of the matrix, the pixel on the line is the #320 and from the spectral point of view this sample is the #238. You need to calculates all dat you needs within the spatial resolution due to the pixel dimension(30 nm),spectral resolution (10 nm) and spectral sampling (5 nm) in orde to read correctly informations from your spectral image...
