Electrical motor ogi 12/28/2004
This is picture of the motor from cardboard
factory. There is a heat build up near the
connectors. Do you think that the failure is
close?

I don't have anything conclusive just some thoughts.

It's an unusual pattern allright. Mostly I deal with TEFC which have a fan under a shroud on outboard end... the hottest spot is always on the inboard end. Your's doesn't match this. Is it a TEFC or maybe a TENV. If TEFC I would say you have a problem based on the pattern, possibly a broken fan.

It doesn't look like it's coming from the connection box. Whether the temp is high I'm not sure... might make a guess if we knew the FLA, the actual amps, and the insulation class. Also we normally use e=0.95 for these type shots if it is a painted surface.

i agree with Pet ..
need more info about operation conditions, and make sure cooling fan is moving air freely, no clogs.
