EPDM Roofing Doug 12/28/2004
My company has been contacted to perform an IR inspection on large flat roof that has a black EPDM membrane over 4 to 6 inches of POLY ISCO Insulation, with much of the insulation has OSB wood sheeting on top of the insulation. The internal building temp. is maintained at 27 to 34 degrees F. Has any one done an inspection under these conditions ? This project is in Florida.
Please contact me at dctait@earthlink.net If you have any ideas.

Are you looking for trapped moisture from a leaking roof? If so you will have greater sucess in the late evening after the roof has absorbed thermal heat from the sun beating down on it all day. Where there is moisture under the membrane you should notice a thermal differance since the water will retain and release the thermal energy at a slower rate then the membrane.
