Chemical and Petroleum Applications Bill 12/22/2003
For those of you doing thermography in refineries what are the qualifications to do this type of work. Bill Finley

Regarding infrared there appears to be only individual company requirements. Like most applications there are no State or Federal requirements to be certified to Level I, II or III. This is not the case when it comes to traditional NDT such as ultrasonics, radiography, etc which are governed by API and ASME codes.

A basic Level I coupled with extensive knowledge in the design and operation of the equipment to be inspected usually suffices. Hope this opinion helps!
