Poor quality concrete alad711@aol.com 5/19/2008
I was asked by a flooring installer. Can IR camera pick up poorly mixed up concrete. He some times runs into concrete that was poorly mixed by adding too much water. In time the concrete becomes less dense makeing installing ceramic tile a pain. Has anyone run ino to this situation? Please email me if you have and what you did about it.
Thank
Alan

The only way I know to determine if it is poor concrete due to the amount of water added, is to do a petrographic examination of the concrete. Generally if too much water has been added to the concrete, the concrete will crack more over time than concrete that has not had a bunch of water added to it.
