LW IR WINDOW FOR FURNACES TOLO 10/16/2008
I need help to find out a suitable IR window to be mounted on the door of an industrial furnace to be able a SC640 camera (7-14 microns)to 'see' inside the furnace.
The máximum temperature inside furnace is 800ºC.

I have been looking information through internet as well as ITC and seems 4" diameter ZnSe windows could helps but I'm not sure about transmission at these temperatures, suitable thickness, or if it's needed any additional component or condition to works fine.
If there's somebody who already have been working in similar application, I would appreciate a lot his help.
Thanks in advance
Regards

I have seen ZnSe windows used in a hypersonic wind tunnel (2500degress F at mach 4) at 1/2 inch thickness. The window has a high transmissivity at that thickness I believe it was measured at around 95%.

Thanks a lot Tom.
It's great to know that %T is good at this kind of temperatures and thickness.
I will try to find out a local dealer in Spain for ZnSe windows.
regards
