| Does anybody know if it is possible to detect ice dams with the infrared camera? If so what is a good technique to use and what kind of thermal signature should I be looking for? |

Your best thermal signature will be the melting on the roof on a frosty morning or a light snow.
As far as IR signature, I would say alot of mottling of the image on the slope ceiling or flat ceiling inside. Although to get a real good idea of issues, look with IR, then set up a blower door to simulate wind and look at the effect it has on the performance of theinsulation. See the pic below which was under -25 pa with blower door. |
