IR Mirror Rick H 8/23/2010
Has anyone used a first surface mirror for IR? Looking for info on suppliers, and type of mirror. Does enhanced aluminum work?
Thanks,
Rick

Hi Rick,

First surface mirrors are commonly used by thermographers for applications where the target is obscured either by a difficult angle or by unsafe conditions. Either gold or aluminum mirrors work well (just be sure to use the correct side!) and can be inexpensively sourced by welding supply distributors, copier parts suppliers, or army surplus stores.

Stainless Steel camping mirrors work well too (and are very inexpensive) See Link below

I have also used a stainless steel kitchen spatula available at dollar stores.
