Does anyone have a recommendation for a calibration service provider? We have a couple of scientific cameras that we want to keep on a yearly cal schedule.

Hi
FLIR cameras can only be serviced by FLIR Service department or by FLIR Licensed Service Centers.
Visit www.flir.com for details and addresses.

Do any non-FLIR employees want to chime in?

Raphael is correct. In order to calibrate it, you need what is called a blackbody. A blackbody is a device capable of an emissivity very close to 1. Actually, a series of blackbodies are needed to calibrate the camera accurately. Blackbodies are close to 10 grand each. Flir houses something in the area of 10 of these. Flir's blackbodies are in a near perfect environment as well. It's going to be hard to match that.

Assuming your cameras are Flir, any distributor you talk to will tell you to send them to Flir.

In fact, I am almost certain that your cameras cannot be certified calibrated unless it is done by Flir.

If your camera isn't Flir, maybe contact the manufacture of your camera.

There are also steps you can take to roughly check the calibration... but that is a story for another post.
