The Americas team is headquartered in our Nashua, New Hampshire facility in the U.S., where the team develops, deploys, and administers training and certification to students from North and South America.
Instructor – ITC Level III
Rusty has been a thermography instructor for the last 10 years, leading Level I and Level II IR certification classes throughout the United States. Prior to joining ITC, he worked for 23 years in the paper industry in mechanical and electrical systems; the last six utilizing thermography for his facility’s reliability maintenance program. Rusty is also a licensed HVAC technician in South Carolina where he performs installation and repairs. This experience, along with his extensive background in industrial systems, brings much practical knowledge and know-how to his training sessions. In his spare time he is an avid golfer and enjoys bass fishing.
Training Specialist - ITC Level II
Alex started working at FLIR Systems in July 2014 as a customer support representative for its research and science solutions. He quickly transitioned over to ITC where he is currently a training specialist who focuses on customer support initiatives and also assists with the delivery of certification classes as needed. An ITC Level II thermographer, Alex is always actively looking for new ways to expand his infrared knowledge and experience. When not in the office, he spends his time skiing, road biking, and rock climbing.
Paul Frisk, P. Eng
Manager ITC - Canada
Paul is responsible for managing ITC Canada. He's a Professional Engineer with a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science from the University of Toronto, Canada. Paul has been in the infrared business since 1979 and with FLIR Systems since 1985. He holds an ITC Level III certification. Paul has extensive experience in Automation (Process Monitoring and Control) processes. His duties ranged from software system design, manufacturing and system installation as well as sales. Paul's second "calling" is as an ITC Instructor and provides enthusiastic training sessions that are well received by his students.
Technical Support Manager
Jason holds a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology and an Associate Degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Massachusetts. He has more than 20 years of experience supporting and servicing FLIR, Inframetrics, and Agema software and cameras. In his current role with the ITC he is responsible for supporting FLIR's commercial Thermography products and teaching our software training courses.
ITC Global Director
John has a Bachelor's Degree in Math and Physics from Providence College and an Electrical Engineering degree from Columbia University. John has been involved with infrared since 1993 when he worked for Inframetrics. He held various roles in business development and marketing, including Director of Sales, before taking over as ITC Director. As ITC Director, John is also responsible for the InfraMation conference, the largest IR training and user conference in the world. In his free time, John enjoys weightlifting, running, bicycling, and snowmobiling.
Ronald D. Lucier

Ron Lucier, an ITC instructor since 1999, has over 32 years of practical thermography applications, consulting, and teaching experience that spans a number of industries including power generation, paper, refining, petro-chemical, gas transmission/distribution, and manufacturing. Since 1984 he has been actively teaching and consulting in infrared thermography, initiating one of the first infrared predictive maintenance programs in the commercial nuclear power industry at Yankee Rowe in Massachusetts. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and has led IR certification courses in more than 20 countries around the world. Besides teaching infrared, Ron also enjoys motivating and energizing his classes with a bit of his Master Magician magic!
Gary L. Orlove, P.E.

Gary holds degrees in Energy Engineering and Zoology from the University of Wisconsin. He has been using Infrared Thermography since 1975. During that time he has accumulated experience in field diagnostics as a consultant to industry, and has worked for three major manufacturers of infrared imaging equipment. Gary has published several papers on the technology and its applications. He is also the editor and publisher of ITC's highly acclaimed monthly newsletter for thermographers. In 2000, he co-founded the InfraMation Conference, the largest annual IR conference for thermographers. Gary is active on ASNT, ISO, and ASTM Infrared Thermography Committees and holds a professional engineer's license. In addition, Gary provides advanced technical support and manages ITC’s online courses.
Level III Thermographer
Scott Sammons has been a thermography instructor for the last 8 years, teaching Level I IR certification classes across the United States. Before transitioning to the field of thermography, Scott worked in the aviation industry serving as a commercial airline Captain for both domestic and international routes. He became a BPI Certified building analysist in 2013, adding to skills he acquired while also working for several years as an IR camera salesman and consultant. This varied background is what Scott draws upon to bring real world knowledge to his thermography classes. During his spare time, Scott and his wife of 28 years are now learning how to navigate the world as “empty nesters” at their home in Colorado.

Bill Schwahn has been involved in building science for over 20 years as a commercial and residential property inspector. He is a certified member of the American Society of Home Inspectors, Home Energy Rater (HERS Rater), and Energy Star Rater. In the world of infrared, Bill is an ITC Level III Thermographer with 10 years experience in private thermography practice where he has worked extensively in building science, electrical substations, electrical indoor distribution, data centers and mechanical equipment. Bill resides with his wife of 39 years in Montana where he also enjoys snowmobiling, fly fishing, hunting, and the outdoors.

Matt Schwoegler is an accomplished thermographer and infrared instructor with over 13 years of experience teaching IR to professionals across a variety of industries. His primary responsibilities include leading Level I and II infrared thermography certification courses throughout the United States. Outside of the classroom, Matt is responsible for managing ITC’s live webinars, infrared training videos, and social media efforts and helps produce content for ITC’s website, eNewsletter, and IR blog. Originally from the Boston-area, he now resides in southern New Hampshire where he enjoys alpine skiing, golf, and sporting clays in addition to spending time with his family.

John brings more than 25 years in the electrical preventive maintenance and power quality assurance disciplines to ITC. He's skilled in the use of energized and de-energized test equipment, certified in numerous testing disciplines as well as energized safe work practices, and has installed and maintained solid state and rotary UPS systems. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Covenant College/University of Tennessee, has considerable experience in the instruction of infrared thermography and many other preventive maintenance topics, and has written and lectured widely on those subjects.
