I am a new user. I am using FLIR to investigate the combustion behavior of cigarettes. I will appreciate if anybody giving me any suggestion. What's the emissivity of a cigarette?
Thanks in advance

I haven’t been able to find much in published literature on this subject. I think all the cigarette companies consider this proprietary data. However I came up with the following:
Title: THERMAL EMISSIVITY AND CIGARETTE COAL TEMPERATURE DURING SMOLDER
Author: Lyman CS; Perfetti TA; Riggs DM; Morgan WT
Source: Beitr Tabakforsch Int - Beitraege zur Tabakforschung International 20(6 Jul):381-8
Publication Year: 2003
See http://www.rjrt.com/IN/COScientific.asp
Measuring Cigarette Coal Radiant Energy During Human Smoking
See http://www.library.ucsf.edu/tobacco/batco/html/13800/13807/index.html
Since you are a new user of IR equipment, I would highly advise seeking training on the science and techniques of using IR systems, especially since measuring burning cigarette components is a challenging application. See our course listings at http://www.infraredtraining.com/courses/ .
