WTS: Minneapolis Blower Door System - LIKE NEW ZEI 11/29/2010
Complete Blower Door System
- Looking for $3000.00, located in Maine
- Like New, used less then 10 times
- Optional fan case included
- Also selling a Fluke TiR InfraRed camera (see other thread)
The Minneapolis Blower Door has long been recognized as the best designed and supported building airtightness testing system in the world. Combined with specialized accessories and testing procedures developed by The Energy Conservatory, the Minneapolis Blower Door is the system of choice for utility DSM programs, energy raters, HVAC contractors and weatherization professionals.
Lightweight, rugged, injection molded fan housing.
Precise, stable flow measurements without the need for gauge dampening.
The Model 3 Fan provides quick and accurate flow measurements from 300 to 6,300 CFM (includes Flow Rings A and B).
Optional Flow Rings C, D and E will measure down to 11 CFM.
Variable fan speed control (solid state - cruise control compatible).
Both 110V/60 Hz and 220V/50 Hz models.
The standard Model 3 Minneapolis Blower Door system includes a single fan, the DG-700 pressure and flow gauge with Cruise Control, and the adjustable aluminum frame and nylon panel.
The DG-700 digital pressure and flow gauge is the latest instrumentation option for the Model 3 Blower Door. The DG-700 contains 2 precision pressure sensors which provide simultaneous display of both building pressure and Blower Door fan flow readings. It's specialized "Baseline" and "CFM @50" features makes it extremely easy to get quick and accurate airtightness test results.
The DG-700's Cruise Control feature allows you to automatically control the Blower Door fan to maintain a constant 75 Pa, 50 Pa, 25 Pa or 0 Pa building pressure without having the gauge connected to a computer.
In addition, the DG-700 has both a USB and RS-232 port that can be used along with a laptop computer and our TECTITE software to conduct fully automated Blower Door tests.
The Automated Performance Testing (APT) System also enables you to fully automate the Blower Door test from your laptop computer. The APT System can be purchased with up to 6 additional pressure channels to simultaneously monitor multiple building zone pressures during a Blower Door test.

Lightweight, Durable Door Frame and Panel
The innovative design of our adjustable aluminum frame and durable nylon panel is the result of years of refinements based on the experience of thousands of users. There is no easier way to seal a Blower Door fan into a door opening.
Snap-together aluminum frame comes in a compact carrying case and sets up in seconds.
Precision engineered cam lever mechanism securely clamps the nylon panel into the door opening.
Adjusts to fit the largest and smallest residential door openings (custom sizes available).
A built-in window allows you to monitor outside activity.
Blower Door Accessory Case
Padded accessory case comes with every Blower Door system and has loads of room for your gauges, manuals, tubing, speed controller and nylon panel. It even has a padded laptop computer pocket and file compartments for organizing literature, forms and other documents.
TECTITE Ver. 3.2 Building Airtightness Test Analysis Software
Designed specifically for use with Minneapolis Blower Door systems.
Calculates building airtightness test results (including leakage areas, ACH50, CFM50, building leakage curve), estimated natural and design infiltration rates, and cost of air leakage.
Calculation procedures and reports are done in accordance with CGSB-149.10-M86.
Compatible with both manual Blower Door tests and automated tests using our DG-700 or APT system.
User-friendly data entry screens, file storage, file retrieval and report generation features.
Pressure Pan

The pressure pan is a duct leakage diagnostic tool which is used along with the Blower Door and digital pressure gauge to identify exterior air leakage in duct systems. This technique involves placing a gasketed pressure pan over each register or grille with the air handler fan off and the Blower Door depressurizing the house to a standard reference pressure. A measurement of the pressure between a duct run and the room where the duct register or grille is located provides a quick and reliable indication of whether significant exterior duct leaks exist in that section of the duct system.
The pattern of pressure pan readings allows for quick identification of major leakage sites, and can be used to tell technicians if they have done a good job of air sealing the duct system. Because the pressure pan does not require taping off of registers and grilles, it is an extremely quick diagnostic procedure.
Two size pressure pans are available: 12"x14"x4" and 22"x22"x2".
Includes a short handle which can be attached to a painter's pole for high registers.
Fan Cases (additional protection for your Blower Door fan)
We offer two cases for your Blower Door fan.
The padded nylon case (pictured) is made of the same tough material, but also includes plenty of high density foam to protect the Blower Door fan from the bumps and bangs of everday use.
The padded case is perfect for anyone who keeps their fan in the back of a van or pickup truck.
Both cases come exclusively in black.
