Customer Success Story

Knowledge That Pays in the Field

While delivering onsite thermography training and conducting practical field exercises, instructor Brian Burns discovered a severe hot spot on a high-voltage fuse connected to a smelter. The issue, measuring over 1000°F (580°C), had the potential to cause more than $1 million in losses. The incident demonstrated how trained thermographers and timely inspections can uncover critical problems before they become costly failures.

Customer Success Story

Process Changed the Outcome

Following infrared certification training and route development consulting from instructor Paul Frisk, a maintenance team began implementing a structured inspection route. As part of the process, technicians revisited a previously identified issue and discovered it had rapidly worsened, requiring immediate action. Addressing the problem before failure occurred helped prevent significant equipment damage, avoid a costly outage, and improve facility safety.
